U.S. video game sales ROSE 3% year-over-year in October, reaching $4.9 billion, fueled by strong performances from Electronic Arts and Nintendo. EA's Battlefield 6, released on October 10, 2025, has already claimed the title of best-selling game in the U.S. this year. Nintendo's Pokémon Legends: Z-A dominated physical game sales, while its Switch 2 console sold 328,000 units in October, outpacing Sony's PlayStation 4 records.

Nintendo's Switch 2, launched in June 2025, is now the fastest-selling console in history. The company projects sales of 19 million units by the end of its fiscal year in March. Meanwhile, EA's stock edged up 0.08% on Thursday, reflecting investor Optimism around its latest blockbuster release.
